An Easter Victory
I delivered this little homily on Sunday, right before we went outside to slay a dragon in celebration of Jesus’s victory over the grave!
This Supper communicates to us the life of Christ by the presence of the Holy Spirit. All of those who are baptized into the death and resurrection life this morning are welcome to come to Christ at the Table of bread and wine.
Yes, even all of you baptized little children. For you must eat and drink, and be strengthened in the life of Christ for in just a little while you will face, with sword in hand, a fierce dragon and you must not be afraid. United to Jesus's indestructible life you will shortly crush Satan under your feet. What we are doing today is a picture of your power kids, for it is Christ's power and you are His. So all your life long, children, make sure that Satan is under your feet.
